CONTEXT

Jellysmack is a unicorn startup with a valuation of over $1 billion. It leads the creator-focused media space, partnering with influencers like MrBeast and PewDiePie. With over $500 million raised, Jellysmack empowers creators by providing tools for content distribution, growth, and monetization.

THE CHALLENGE

As short-form video content (videos typically under 60 seconds) grows rapidly on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook Reels, creators struggle with managing content distribution. Each platform has its own algorithms, audience behaviors, and format requirements, forcing creators to spend significant time reposting and adjusting content. This issue is compounded by TikTok’s poor monetization, which drives creators to expand to other platforms like YouTube for better revenue opportunities.

At VidCon Baltimore and Vidsummit Dallas, 47 creators with over 100 million combined followers were interviewed. Their insights were crucial in shaping JellyPush, designed to simplify cross-platform content distribution.

MY ROLE

I led the UI/UX design for JellyPush, creating an intuitive interface and developing a comprehensive design system for iOS and web platforms. I conducted extensive market and competitive research to ensure a perfect product-market fit. Additionally, I designed the app‘s landing page, in-app motion design, and marketing assets for email campaigns and ads. I also established unified branding, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints and strengthening JellyPush‘s identity.

Solution Design and Approach


COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH AND ITERATION

Based on insights from interviews at VidCon and Vidsummit, I led the design of JellyPush with a clear focus on delivering a solution that was both intuitive and efficient for creators. Creators needed a way to manage their content across platforms without switching between apps. Maintaining the best video while removing watermarks was essential to ensure brand consistency. Additionally, they wanted time-saving features that would streamline the reposting process with minimal steps.

REPOST FROM ANYWHERE

Effortlessly select videos from multiple sources and instantly access your entire content library across platforms. The app seamlessly guides you through adding and managing your media, making the process smooth and intuitive every step of the way.

UNIQUE POST PREVIEW

The post preview lets creators see exactly how their content will appear across platforms and make quick adjustments to descriptions, covers, and settings. Users can modify settings without leaving the preview, ensuring each repost meets platform requirements, delivering a smooth experience praised for its value and ease of use.

WATERMARK REMOVAL

Unlike competitors, JellyPush ensures that content reposted is in high definition, with watermarks removed, helping creators maintain a professional look.

ANALYTICS TAB

The app‘s analytics tab gives creators comprehensive insights into their performance across platforms, showing metrics such as views, likes, shares, comments, and follower growth.

MULTI-PLATFORM CONTROL

Users can take full control of their reposting from the post preview screen, selecting how many platforms they want to repost to at once. With a simple tap, they can easily enable or disable platforms, allowing for streamlined multi-platform reposting without leaving the preview mode. This gives creators flexibility and efficiency in managing their content distribution across multiple channels.

BRANDING

I crafted a sleek, modern visual identity for JellyPush, centered around a bold purple color palette with dynamic accents. The design incorporated shadow effects, lighting, animated strokes, and glass-like textures, giving the app a premium and luxurious feel. This distinct visual style enhanced the product‘s appeal, making JellyPush stand out while ensuring consistency across the app, website, and marketing materials.

Results and Impact


EFFICIENCY

Creators reported saving 50-70% of the time spent reposting content across platforms.

MONETIZATION

By simplifying cross-platform distribution, creators expanded their presence on platforms like YouTube, resulting in a 10%+ growth in revenue.

TRACTION

Although JellyPush is still in its early stage of launch, the app received strong interest at VidCon & Vidsummit, with a significant number of creators signing up for the beta program. As the app evolves, more detailed conclusions will be drawn based on user feedback and ongoing improvements.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS

After launch, I closely monitored UX Cam sessions to observe real user interactions, identifying pain points and opportunities for optimization. I also tracked Mixpanel stats to identify where users were dropping off within the flow. Based on this data, I worked with the development team to implement iterative updates and improvements. Additionally, I regularly updated App Store assets and ads assets, ensuring visuals and descriptions were optimized based on user reviews and analytics.
